WOOT! WOOT! Liquid Militia Team Rider Zack Bright Heads Off to France

“So it’s on. I’m going to France to give the World tour a go at Jet Jump Extreme 2011’.  Zack Bright is the first Liquid Militia Team Rider on the Tour WOOT WOOOOT!  Zack is a highly accomplished Big Air rider, taking top honors in the 2010 Blowsion Big Air Contest.  Something Zack does instinctively is pushing the roof on his stylized Rickter Freeride stand-up.

Zack will be competing in France on a "Revolution" model LightWeight.de hull, Using a ski that’s not his own once again like he did at the 2011 Peruvian International Freeride Championship. Zack competed on a fully stock Super jet at the Peruvian event and stomped a solid 2nd place. No matter what type of ski Zack is on he’s a first class competitor and earns top ranking. One skill that most can't touch with this type of versatility, a keen nature for winning drives Zack.

“I leave the 29th this month and I won’t be back until the 7^th of June. It’s like a 2 in 1 contest. It’s the Jet Jump Extreme for the French tour and then the IFWA 1st stop”, states Zack.

“If you qualified top 10 in IFWA last year you don’t have to ride the JJE and just ride the IFWA but since I didn’t place in the top 10 there, the JJE is like qualifying for the IFWA.... its kinda confusing but basically I will be in 2 contests if all goes well. Anyone can win the JJE and someone else can win the 1st round. Hell yea lets blow this sh*t up baby!  Looking forward to doing big things over there, big air and fun times, supporting Freeride!”, says Bright.

2011 IFWA World Tour

The beginning round of the IFWA world tour will begin in France as part of the Jet Jump Extreme event in June 2, 2011.Jet Jump will be the French National event and will judged and scored as per the French Federation rules

The top 8 pilots from the French National event will qualify to compete in the IFWA World tour opening competition held on Sunday, June 5th against the top 8 IFWA pilots from last season’s ranking. Sundays event will be scored as defined by IFWA rules and be matched head to head. The Top 8 pilots from 2010 automatically qualify for the opening 2011IFWA round. Participation in the French competition is optional.

Asociacion Peruana De Motos Acuaticas – APMA - It’s Freeride Time!

Liquid Militia is once again proud to announce two of our team riders will be competing at the January 29^th event. Zach Bright who recently took top honors for the Blowsion Surf Slam ‘Big Air; Contest will be on the roster. Liquid Militia team mate Jared Aljouny will join him on the trek to South America. A host of international talent will round out the invitational only event.

This is the second annual Peruvian Free Ride Championship. The South American season is opposite of North America so they are enjoying their late summer months and weather patterns, while we are deep in winter.

The Peruvian beach front will be full of spectators attending this happening event. The competition Yamaha Super Jets are provided by Yamaha of Peru.

First thought about Peru With Zack Bright? ‘I’m super excited, should be a good time, it’s my first time traveling to South America. They have stock, (really stock) super jets. We can bring parts for Yamahas if we have them and their mechanics will install them. I don’t have any, so I’ll be on a ‘really stock’ one. Nobody has an advantage, everybody is just riding stock boats; it should be good. A lot of surf riding, that’s going to be the good thing.’

Is your passport ready? ‘Yeah, but I just realized I should figure if I have a VISA. I am flying ‘Aero Mexico’ to Peru. Jared is flying out of San Francisco, and I’m flying out of LAX. Hasta Luego!’

Que Pasa? ‘I know nothing about Lima, I’m going in blind, so I don’t know what to expect, I’m excited to go; Freeriding is taking me places!’

Your Invite? ‘Ross Champion gave me the spot, and that means a lot to me. The Champion called so I got to go represent for Ross, should be good! I’m stokked, can’t wait to go and promote our team, American and the sport of Freeride. We arrive on the 26^th, Press Conference is on the 27^th, ride Peruvian surf, see Lima and leave the 30^th. I saw pictures from last year and the waves look good!’

5 LIQUID MILITIA TEAM RIDERS ATTACK THE 2010 BLOWSION SURF SLAM

Team Liquid Militia arrived from Southern California by caravan, air and land. Trucks, rental cars, trailers and competition boats descended early on the morning of Friday the 10th for qualifying positions in gloomy weather. Saturday preliminaries and Sunday’s finals shone in perfect conditions and closed with fog. The LM team set up a Liquid Militia Team House a typical of our ‘KOABFD’ way of life. Good Times!

Liquid Militia’s Zack Bright takes the spotlight with an overall win in the K&S Kuwait Big Air Showdown! Zack pulled off the biggest solo trick on 3 runs and earned himself $500.00. This was Zack’s first time competing on his brand new Freeride Rickter boat, an impressive debut.

Mark Gomez was not only battling in the Surf Slam, but exhaustion from driving 24 hours straight up the Western Coastline from California, an arduous 1200 mile trek. Mark was throwing decent no handed barrel rolls one after the other on his ‘Black Pearl’ Yamaha Super Jet.

Cuong Son scoped up the wild card for the finals on his Rickter. ‘King Cuong’ was picking off the set waves and did his reverse foot aerials. Cuong was going big and hitting one hand and foot nose stabs. Cuong was hitting big air Nor Cal Style, and is getting used to his new Rickter.

Stanton High was riding his newly acquired Yamaha Super Jet and bombing huge re-entries and low tucks. He has his own style unique to himself and not like any other riders. He really stands out in the surf with his fluid and laid back but aggressive rides.

Jared Ajlouny wanted to do a double back flip for the Big Air show but never captured a worthy wave in his heat. He was hoping for better surf conditions but they never arrived. Jared pulled off a single back flip with the water that was delivered on his yellow hull.

The Liquid Militia Team was ‘Team Yellow’ this past weekend, with most of our riders on yellow stand up. We are very proud to be working with some of the finest talent in the PWC community.

LM Team Placings
1st Place in the K&S Kuwait Big Air taken by Zack Bright. Mark Gomez, Stanton High and Maxime Baroero all ‘tied’ for fifth place in the Pro Freeride Competition. Zach Bright placed 9th ‘tied’ with Bruno Jacob, Chris Rosner, Jerry Jones, Cuong Son, Tiago Geitens, and Jerry Brandon.
